WINC Junior Section

Junior Section

Including our recently introduced Bee Netball programme, our Junior Section offers you the chance to join in, train and have fun playing netball from 5 years upwards. We welcome all abilities and focus on building netball skills and fitness in a safe environment but more importantly having fun – so come and join us!

We provide high-quality well-planned sessions and the chance to develop your netball skills, giving you the confidence to play in Tournaments, the Lincolnshire County Netball League, and the opportunity to qualify to play in the Regional Leagues.
You will start out as a training only member and once a place becomes available, we will allocate you to an appropriate team, or if you don’t feel ready you can just enjoy training!

We fully support those wishing to develop their skills further and provide opportunities to attend trials each year.
We currently have several talented girls selected into County, Elite Performance and Superleague Development Academies.

Junior Training

Training takes place every Thursday evening during term time from 5:30pm to 8:30pm depending on your age group, outside at our purpose-built courts at Washingborough Playing Fields (April through to October) or inside at The Little Leisure Centre, Nocton (November through to April).

If you’re interested in joining us, please email:

NB: Due to high demand, a waiting list may be in operation.

Bee Netball

Bee Netball is England Netball’s fun and nurturing programme for children (aged 5-9-year-olds) at the beginning of their team sport journey. It is designed to introduce children to netball skills: throwing, catching, footwork and shooting.

More importantly, the programme is designed to support every child’s personal development on and beyond the court. All activities are underpinned by our Beeliefs; our core values are focused on improving your child’s belief in their own ability.

Bees can buy their very own personalised Bee Netball tee shirt which will have their name on, there is a reason for this. It’s so they never walk into a session feeling like they don’t know anyone; it’s so our Bee Leaders can say hi as soon as they walk through the door. Our activities are also designed to get our Bees chatting – we love buzzy Bees!

U11 Netball

U11 netball is a great way to get kids active, improve co-ordination and make new friends along the way. It’s an adapted form of regular netball designed for both girls and boys aged 8-11 and uses fun skill based activities to introduce them to the game of netball.

The adapted netball game typically features:

  • 5 players on the court (a maximum of two boys on court at any one time)
  • Squad rotation
  • 4 seconds to pass the ball
  • Size 4 Netball
  • 9ft post
  • Full sized court

A key part of U11 netball is players rotating around positions. This enables, each player to experience every position on court, making them more adaptable as they get older.

Our U11s compete in The Lincolnshire County Netball League and play on a Saturday afternoon at the Priory Witham Academy. Matches are played on the outside courts as tournaments every 5/6 weeks throughout the year with the occasional break for school holidays.

U12/14 Netball

At U12 level you are introduced to the traditional 7-a-side netball game, played on a standard sized court using a size 5 ball.
Posts are set slightly higher than U11 posts at 3.05m with 7 players per team on court at any one time.

Our U12s (Year 7) train on a Thursday evening during term time both independently and alongside the U14s to help further develop their skills.

Our U14 section is for girls in school years 8 and 9 who have trained/played together for a few years – either through school or have moved up through the club. Occasional match play with the U16s is offered to build on their skills, enabling them to further develop their play.

Matches are played as 10-minute quarters on a Saturday morning on the outside courts at the Priory Witham Academy as part of The Lincolnshire County Netball League. The league runs from September through to April with the number of matches depending on the number of teams entered.

U16 Netball

Our U16 Section is for those in school years 10 and 11, most of which have played together as part of a team for a few years, moving up through the club. We offer frequent match play with the seniors to build on their strength and decision-making skills.

The U16s compete in The Lincolnshire County Netball League and play on a Saturday at the Priory Witham Academy – It’s a faster paced game played across 15-minute quarters, and as bonus they get to play their matches inside! The league runs from September through to April with the number of matches depending on the number of teams entered.
